Decoding protein interactions in the brain

Dr. Gao received his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and postdoctoral training from Duke University. He started his laboratory at Baylor College of Medicine in the Summer of 2023, and is named McNair Scholar at BCM and the McNair Medical Institute at The Robert and Janice McNair Foundation.

Dr. Anderson received his Ph.D. in Quantitative and Computational Biosciences from Baylor College of Medicine and postdoctoral training from Rice University. He is interested in applying structural and computational biology to tackle difficult questions in protein interaction and protein engineering.

Dr. Ma received her Ph.D. in Regenerative Medicine from the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. She is interested in understanding how protein interactions and cellular signaling events shape neuronal structure and function in neurodevelopmental disorders.

Sanghyun is a recent graduate of Rice University with a B.A. in Sports Medicine & Exercise Physiology and a B.Mus. in Violin Performance on a pre-med track. He is interested in studying proteomics in the context of diverse neurological conditions. 

Jessye is a senior at Baylor University pursuing a BS in Neuroscience with a minor in Biochemistry on the pre-med track. Her research focuses on neuropharmacology and neurological pathologies, particularly the interactions between drugs and the nervous system and the molecular mechanisms of diseases. Jessye aims to contribute to the development of novel treatment strategies for neurological conditions, improving patient outcomes and quality of life.
